(I created mashup Christmas cards this year from 99p shop cards, this was one of the rejects! None of this Photoshop shizzle, O.G. craft knife and prittstick technology! But yeah I guess it's 'It's More Than Merry Christmas' when you have intimate relations with a gigantic Robin and then a miniature Santa flies out...) This is more of a Christmas pOdditiies broadcast, with Christmas song poems, holiday monstrosities, sexually inappropriate festive cheer, yodelling Santas, rockets and robot Santas, boozy Santa punks, psychedelic Xmas hip-hop, Christmas disco, festive Moog tracks and strange Xmas mashup nonsense. Will be a Mixcloud/blog only exclusive for a few days because I've run out of Libsyn space! Sorry Libsyn people, but can't afford the temporary upgrade (I would if Santa brought some presents...or more Paypal/Flattr tips, hint hint). Would not be possible without these blogs (yes blame them!):
...and many others! Happy Christmas/End of the World from Radio Clash! Tracklist at the website or in the comments of the MP3, or on an iPod the Lyrics field (press your centre button 4 times). |

So it's the end of the world as I know it, and I feel fine. Actually it is the end of the world of decent sub-editing that doesn't mention the obvious REM reference every 2.6 seconds...we'll know on the 21st if those ol' Mayans were right. Then again they never saw their end coming, so pretty sure my Apocalypse Now Tour - See The End of The World From A Comfortable Coach! won't be fully booked. Leave your landing light on, shine a light on your backyard, leave a lighthouse in the wild, I'm coming in a little blind... (Candle is from 2008, it's one John lights to guide me in when I go round his during the week - hence the lyrics of the Patrick Watson song having a certain resonance) A companion & second half of RC228: Sloppy Seconds...starting with some big news :-D Also includes two tracks from the new vintage mashup / electro-swing album 'Zoot Boots Vol 1'. Tracklist at the website or in the comments of the MP3, or on an iPod the Lyrics field (press your centre button 4 times). |

Second part of GYBO RIP and our Bootleg Nostalgia Very Extended Week on Radio Clash, here's a recreation of my set at Bootie London. This is a mix of old skool and nu-skool, from bastard pop to bootlegs and mashups. Bootie London was billed as the Get Your Bootleg On Wake, so wanting to bring the ol' Bastard spirit I asked quite a few of the old GYBO/Bastard crew to list their favourites. I also trawled through my old 2002 and 2003 CD-Rs hence there are a lot of forgotten or not-so forgotten classics featured in this set, and Missy Elliott became a theme. I had a lot of fun doing this set, and although warming up the people that were there was silly dancing (from me too at the end!) and those there enjoyed the classics and even the newer ones like G3rst's Rammstein vs ABBA! There's also a Bootie London exclusive, Captain Obvious's Push Groove which is a remake of a 2003 Half Arsed Beats mashup. Thanks to:Lee Spoons, Thriftshop XL, Ian Fondue, CartelMike, Ms Frenchie, Eve Massacre, Philmans & Dog (of Phil n Dog) and Frenchbloke for their excellent lists and track suggestions- not all of them worked for this kind of thing, but collected them for a future podcast. |

I'll take the high road, and you'll take Shinjuku Dori, and I'll be in the hostel hiding from la lluvia drinking agua beatha afore ye! I've been on my travels to Scotland on the Trans Island Express and vodka-swilling at Bestival, baring wind, rain and mutant rolling tents. and here's a podcast inspired by my travels. Not just physical but also musical journey to some places I'd like to go (anywhere with sunshine and nice people, really). A long podcast but then again is standing sandwiched like a sardine at a Stevie Wonder concert (even harder: trying to get out before he finishes!), or walking large parts of the Western Isles, so you get what you put in, so neh. Just don't mention showers...either kind. The Spain in Rain falls mostly in the illegal cartel of European LiDAR rates. |

Welcome to Gridlock! They call it murder... A state of the capital address about London, 2012, Babylon and ting. Righteous music from roots reggae to dubstep, soul, rock and gothabilly & psychobilly (and two Orchestras and some funky dubby jaxz from Miles Davis!) celebrating Jamaica's 50th birthday and Red, Gold and Green rather than Bronze, Gold and Silver. "The man who worships silver and gold, shall surely, surely, surely lose his own soul, Then fade away". (and a track I forgot to play on this podcast! Bless you Junior Byles). I don't play enough Jamaican music so inspired by David Rodigan here is a dubtastic podcast. Babylon and on and on and on (re-record not fade away) |

Sadly as mentioned on the blog Get Your Bootleg On - the 10 year old mashup forum is to close - certainly the bootleg forums are now gone. Here's the first part of commemorative shows (sounds like a Franklin Plate: here buy the 2002 Mashup Edition with Extra Goldleaf Missy!) where I've taken the first 5-6 pages of GYBO and featured the tracks there - just to show the creativity and diversity of the place. And to give GYBO a sort of wake. What I thought might be difficult to find good stuff I eventually had the opposite problem - too many good mashups! This also harks back to the first Radio Clash podcasts back in 2004-6 which were originally an all mashup. As mentioned in the show I need your help for part 2 - which will be the 'Old Skool' edition. What was the first mashup you heard on GYBO? Or the favourite one you've heard in these 10 years? Usual address, or try the contact form above or the comments below. What No Clayton Counts or Weiser? |

(Musical London Underground map by Dorian Lynskey) The Record Doctor's here to soothe your soul (and rock & roll, dub, electronica, hiphop, beatbox, chillwave, folk....). Sadly the Doctor Is Out and on strike, so you're left with me. Ho hum. *blows on stethoscope* Emergency for Doctor RingDing! Tracklist at the website or in the comments of the MP3, or on an iPod the Lyrics field (press your centre button 4 times). |

I've been doing such a run of themed shows that I had a massive pile of great tunes with nowhere to go, so I've created not one but two separate 'Odds and Sods' shows - if you don't know about them, maybe search through the Radio Clash archive ;-) Basically the shows where the tracks are all misfit orphans, but we love them all the same. This one is strangely duck themed - comes from the episode number (BINGO!) but also as random as crispy duck in hoisin sauce. Which isn't random, but the analogy is. Much love again for this episode for Music for Maniacs and their Quackers Covers. These Are The Drakes, Quack it up, quack it up, quack it up - touchdown! |
